Symbolic Character of the Sacred Scriptures

A collection of sixteen lectures characterizing the various symbols found within scriptures. The author revised and reprinted his original work to make changes in order to prevent any misunderstanding of the mission of Swedenborg or his doctrines. Each lecture notates the scripture passage in which it discusses. A sample of the topics found in the lectures includes the origin of language, symbolic meaning and use of horses, analogy between material universe and the human mind, and the correspondence of water and the divine teachings thereby.
