Toronto (Growth of the City/State)

Nestled on the northern shore of Lake Ontario is Toronto, the largest city in Canada. “Hog Town” as it is sometimes known to its residents—is a densely and diversely populated city. Approximately forty nine percent of Toronto’s inhabitants are of non-Canadian descent and throughout its history the city has welcomed people from all over the world. This legacy has lent the city a colorful vibrancy that is unique as it is successful. In a little over 200 years since soil was first broken, Toronto has become a world class cultural center. Having left cultural clashes well behind, it is home to people from a smorgasbord of origins who help make their city a cosmopolitan metropolis of dizzying heights and welcoming, old world charm and grace. With so much to recommend it, it seems likely that the future will hold yet more growth for “Hog Town”.
