The past comes alive through the words, deeds, triumphs and sacrifices of 83 colored soldiers who served with the 104th Infantry Regiment, USCT. Imbedded in the 83 genealogical and biographical entries in this book, more than 450 surnames are identified, with an index to nearly 2,000 family members, relatives, friends, soldiers, clergy and other prominent figures in the communities where these soldiers resided when they applied for pension benefits.
