To Mary Lou and her husband, Carl, “custody suit” was a term they had heard, but not thought about much.

Then one day, it happened to them. At her sister’s dying wish, Mary Lou Jones took in three of her children. After the two older children willingly left to live with a foster family, they used the judicial system to force their much younger brother, Doug, to join them. What follows is a long, fierce struggle staged by Mary Lou and Carl to regain custody of Doug and remove him from the crowded foster home where he experiences neglect and abuse.
