Morals Under the Gun: The Cardinal Virtues, Military Ethics, and American Society

This work argues that the cardinal virtues must be the core values of the military. Without them, the armed forces become mercenaries, thugs or fascists. With them, the profession of arms can serve in many ways as a beacon of light in an increasingly confusing age.
