Description

In this book, Ansell Adams explore some of the world to be photographed and delete discusses the applications of the techniques presented in the 1st 3 books of the series. He concentrates here on natural lighting "existing" light, "available" light are almost synonymous terms for "natural" light as he considers it. He is anxious to simplify photography, to show that there is no light as beautiful and as functional as sunlight and daylight, and that in this very technical age when anything artificial promises more than things natural, the photographer is prone to dwell more upon contrived composition than upon the simple truths of the natural world and the revealing powers of natural light on a great variety of subjects. Adams 1st describes in general terms the qualities of various types of natural lighting, the response of negative materials, the effects of filters, and then proceeds to discuss specific subjects which may be photographed by natural light - landscape, clouds, snow, natural details, portraits, architecture, works of art, and other subjects.
