Especially in recent years, the significance of Mies van der Rohe, a German-born American architect, is being reaffirmed, motivating Birkhauser to make the original work available again to a larger readership. This new English/German edition has been supplemented to include additional bibliographic and biographic information. It intends to elucidate architectural concepts and designs in a representative cross-section of Mies' work, encouraging new and creative ideas.
