Caribbean Sociology: Introductory Reader

In this reader the editors have brought together a range of established sociology pieces, as well as selections from more recent work in the growing body of Caribbean sociological literature. General introductory sections review the development of Caribbean sociology, social theory, research and methodology; later sections explore the traditional themes of social stratification, ethnicity, culture and identity, women and gender, and education. Finally, emerging areas of research are covered, with chapters on religious beliefs, violence, labour relations and social change.
