Development Education: Debates and Dialogue

This insightful book reflects a range of views, opinions and perspectives on the subject of development education and on related themes of global education, global learning and global citizenship. Contributions are based in an international context with contributions from the UK, Europe and South America and a particular focus on Germany and Brazil. Development education and its related terms have been around since the 1970s but they have had a difficult history. The issues it has raised are now moving center stage within debates in education and the contribution it has made and can continue to make will hopefully receive greater recognition and support. This book will stimulate debate and dialogue and will identify issues and themes for research and pose questions that development education practitioners need to consider.
