Wild Plum at Night

Martine dePaul, a brilliant young priest, turns his back on a powerful and wealthy family's privileged world to become parish priest of an impoverished Indian pueblo church near Santa Fe, New Mexico. Caught in a relationship with a young male hedonist, the devoted but naive cleric is seduced into breaking his vow of celibacy. Devastated, Martine feels he must leave the priesthood. Into this struggle, played out against the timeless beauty of one of America's oldest cities, steps a benevolent archbishop who offers a solution to Martine's agony.
