Murray in South Africa and Spurgeon in England preached and wrote that persistent, intercessory prayer is, perhaps, the greatest work every Christian can do by the grace of God and in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Editor L. G. Parkhurst has compiled selections from both Murray's and Spurgeon's writings on the subject of intercession, updating them for today's reader. Thirty-one devotionals opening with a section from Murray, followed by related thoughts from Spurgeon, and concluding with a prayer of application form a powerful and challenging message for believers to labor individually and together in prayer.
