Navigating through Discrete Mathematics in Prekindergarten-Grade 5 (Navigations)

Discrete mathematics is a rapidly expanding branch of mathematics with important applications in computer science and other fields. Young children encounter ideas in discrete mathematics naturally in counting and coloring. The authors present three topics systematic counting, vertex-edge graphs, and iterative and recursive processes in lively, hands-on activities that engage pre-K grade 5 students in sorting buttons, coloring maps, plotting routes, and more.
