Description

Translated by Jean Boddewyn with a preface by David Ogilvy, founder and Worldwide Creative Director of advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather.

The dramatic autobiography of Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet who founded his own advertising agency Publicis at the age of 20. He also founded a highly successful radio station Radio Cite. A French Jew, he survived the German occupation but was forced to flee the Gestapo when they were about to arrest him. He fought with the Free French and flew with the U.S. Eighth Air Force. Returning to liberated Paris, he had to rebuild his agency from scratch and, in 1972 at the age of 66, he resurrected it once again when the Publicis building was destroyed in a fire.
