An Everlasting Love: A Devotional Study of the Gospel of John

Jeremiah wrote, "The Lord hath appeared of old unto m, saying, I have loved thee with an everlasting love" (31:3). This is the only kind of love God has...a perfect, complete, eternal love. This He has shown us in Jesus Christ, the One we should see in the Gospel of John. AN EVERLASTING LOVE by Dr. Mitchell is a devotional study of the fourth Gospel. The author brings to life New Testament figures found within the narrative as well as giving biblical and theological insights from the text. In all of Mitchell's work, Jesus Christ is the central focus of his writings and the mission of Christ is continually underscored. The Son of God--"God manifest in the flesh"--revealed God's righteous character to men. But he also provided a path for sinful men back to God through the sacrifice of His sinless life on the cross. Thus He completes the prophetic Scriptures and proves and provides God's everlasting love. This Christological work was compiled from sermons and transcripts of Dr. Mitchell by writer Dick Bohrer.
