Creativity in the Arts and Science

The papers on Creativity in the Arts and Science in this volume were originally presented at the Third International Locarno Conference on Science and Society in October 1988. They were revised in the light of the lively and informed discussions that took place at the meeting, and are grouped around three main themes: The Depths of Memory and the Play of Words (Paolo Rossi, Paolo Casini, and Douglas R. Hofstadter), Leonardo, Raphael, and the Design of Instruments (Samuel Y. Edgerton, Paolo Galluzzi, and Paolo Brenni), and The Challenge of Interpreting Creativity (Paul K. Feyerabend, Francesco Lerda, Marina Giaveri, and Simon Lantieri).
