Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are located in southeastern Utah. Arches was first set aside in 1929 to preserve extraordinary products of erosion: giant arches, windows, pinnacles, and pedestals. Canyonlands was established in 1964 to preserve a geological wonderland of rocks, spires, mesas, and Indian rock art.
