Description

This book was written for a course that was designed collaboratively with the Veterinary Medical Technicians Program instructors and the Mathematics and Science Department at Central Carolina Community College. The course is designed specifically to prepare students with the fundamentals of mathematics used on the state and national certification board exams and the concepts needed for computations in chemistry and veterinary clinical practice classes. It is an ideal mathematics course for first-semester Veterinary Technicians and Technologists; or, as an additional mathematics requirement for any Veterinary Medical Program.

Mathematics for Veterinary Medical Technicians is a workbook style of text with plenty of exercises. Basic computational skills in mathematics, conversions within a measurement system and between measurement systems, graphing and graph reading, dosage calculations, diluting solutions, and basic statistics are the major subject content areas addressed in this book. Computations taught in this course include single and multiple step dosage problems and the diluting of stock solutions to desired concentrations. Stumpf, Fritz and Bradford have written this text using easy-to-understand, everyday language and have also included step-by-step examples for each exercise.
