Fix Your Eyes Upon Jesus

Fix Your Eyes on Jesus is written for struggling runners, those whose knees have become feeble and whose hands hang down. Part one is about Jesus' entry into the race, how he ran it, and how he won it. Part two is about how Jesus enters into our own personal race, not as a spectator - not even as a cheerleader - but as a partner. "Lo, I am with you always," is not a promise to give us a guidebook, but a promise to be our guide. The incarnate Christ of history becomes the indwelling Christ of the present. Part three focuses briefly on the returning Christ, who promises, "Surely I am coming quickly."

Fix Your Eyes on Jesus is sent forth with the prayer that those who are down and out will be given new strength to struggle to their feet and finish the race, those who have slackened their pace will be refreshed for the final dash across the finish line, those who have strayed off course, will make the needed adjustments, and those are picnicking in the shade will realize that - while the race is not to the swift - it isn't to the lazy either.
