The Red flame of Erinpura

John Duncannon wakes in a strange room somewhere in India running a high fever. He does not know how he got there, or what has happened to him. Nor does he yet grasp the fact that he is a small piece of a great drama that is about to unfold, as mighty forces clash over a decaying temple with a lurid past in a remote corner of India. Duncannon soon finds himself in the midst of intrigue, murder, and rank ambition, with only the irrepressible babu Chullunder Ghose to guide him. But then the Gnani, a local holy man, inserts himself and his two tigers into events, and everything changes. Does Duncannon triumph? Or will he die trying? Does Chullunder Ghose wiggle his corpulent self out of yet another desperate situation?
