Roman Eagles over Ethiopia was written by then Colonel (later Lieutenant General) Pedro A. del Valle, USMC. Colonel del Valle was the official U.S. military observer with the Italian Army for the Italo-Ethiopian War of 1936-1937. Originally published in 1940, this book sets forth the events leading up to the expedition and all of the operations of Italian forces under Generals De Bono, Badoglio and Graziani. The narrative is enhanced by 25 clear explanatory maps. There are 53 photos/drawings in a 6" by 9" hardcover trim size.
