This facsimile edition of Tessa Lorant's Knitted Quilts & Flounces, originally published in 1982, is a collection of outstanding traditional knitting patterns. It revives 24 genuine 'white knitting' designs, to charm and fascinate both the beginner and the more advanced knitter, and enable them to use their own special skills to create fantastic knitted quilts which could easily become heirlooms. Ways of assembling and dressing the pieces are discussed, and the carefully re-knitted patterns are fully illustrated in black and white in the book. There are 13 quilt and 11 flounce designs, and the average time taken to knit each pattern piece or repeat is given. The patterns are presented in readable, easy-to-follow form. Methods of assembly are discussed, and easy ways of 'turning the corner' when bordering the completed quilt with a flounce are also given.
