This volume is dedicated to a remarkable botanist, Werner Rauh, one of the true giants of the botanical world. Immensely curious, erudite, and peripatetic, his wide-ranging interests encompass a multitude of plant families, from Euphorbias to Cacti, Bromeliads to Orchids, Didieriaceae to Piperaceae, high mountain plants to desert plants, and succulents in general. In his relentless explorations he has discovered and described more than 100 new species.
