This short novel is a sequel to Pixie. It follows the experience of an intelligent giraffe, named Nous, who is confronted with a moral dilemma.
As Nous considers what her moral obligations would be as a person of virtuous character, Pixie and her classmates try to help her by discussing the nature of moral education. In so doing they help Nous decide what to do, even though it is not a decision they favor. This novel is a wonderful springboard for encouraging children to discuss various ethical issues together. Blank pages are also included for young readers to illustrate! Grade Range: 3-7. Target Grades: 4-6
