This book is designed as a reference work on Lionel Trains from their first appearance until World War II halted production in 1943. Although the subject material is covered in depth and detail for the serious collector, the more than 700 color photographs of trains from Lion's most colorful era will appeal to all. This book's first edition was three years in the preparation, with two years in the research alone; every effort has been made to make this the most accurate and comprehensive book ever written about Lionel Trains. Ten years after publishing the first edition enough new material has collected to warrant this second edition.
