This book addresses a subject of considerable socio-economic significance but one that has only recently been studied in some depth. It brings together and synthesizes most of the relevant information, previously scattered in various journals, reports and conference proceedings. The book is a collaborative effort by several authors, each contributing unique expertise and focusing on different aspects of the ice jamming processes and associated problems.
