Description

GateWar is the result of the most concentrated playtesting effort in gaming history--the game you helped create! A unique fantasy role-playing game (RPG) with a plethora of character enhancements, a multitude of campaign and cultural details including history, magics, politics, geography, and all the astounding creatures found in the world of Vinya.

Environment Background
Sixty years ago, the native Vinyans lost control of an experimental off-planet Gateway. Malfunctions have allowed random hordes of invaders to descend upon the peaceful Vinyan landscape, plunging their once utopian civilization into a state of chaos. It is in this time that the players become caught up in the "GateWar" of this medieval fantasy world. Become an adventurer in Vinya, where the player characters determine their fate through brawn, wits and magic.

Facts and Features
GateWar is a comprehensive, believable fantasy role-playing system that introduces or enhances several concepts in the genre.

Meta-rules provide improved rule harmony, adding to the enjoyment and speed of play while making the Game-Master's role headache-free.

Combat and magic activities are divided into a unique 3-action phase that enhances realism without becoming mired in technicalities.

Open-ended rule design and complexity customization features make it easy for the GM or players to do almost anything imaginable.

Variable campaign scenarios with alternative past and future development make every GateWar game unique.

Over 120 new imaginative and fantastic creatures. Their detail and realism has earned them the moniker "Thinking Man's Monsters."

The GateWar manual includes everything needed to start play (except for dice). No supplemental books are required.
