It was edited by Remigio U. Pane. Includes chapters by Giovanni Shiavo, Joseph Tusiani, Robert Viscusi, Carol Bonomo, Salvatore LaGumina, Peter PPugliese, Leonard Bacigalupo, Frank Cavaioli, ALfonso d'Emilia, Francesco Cordasco, Rosanne Martorella, Nancy Torrieri, Otto J. Plescia, John Colaizzi, Roy Bowers, Emiliana Noether, Margherita Marchione, Lucia Chiavola Birnbaum, Baneeta D'Andrea, Regina SOria, Rocco Caporale, and Peter Sammartino. The Theme of the conference was selected in hopes to simulate research assessing the progress made by Italian Americans in entering the various professional fields. The twenty five papers read at the Conference dealt with Many facets of the theme and produced evidence of real achievement in some fields, some success in others, and difficulty in gaining accession into others.
