The Wycliffe International Cookbook

If you want simple, from scratch recipes, this cookbook is for you. I live Asia where convenience foods are not readily available, and I get frustrated with recipes that call for a can of something or a cake mix or some other processed food. This book is great because most, if not all of the recipes use fresh ingredients, and there are also plenty of suggestions for substitutions should an ingredient listed be unavailable. The recipes aren't gourmet, but they are tasty and fairly nutritious. This book, and More-With-Less Cookbook (World Community Cookbook) are my two favorites for simple, scratch cooking.
