This is much like Steinbeck's "Travels With Charlie." (Except my wife sure isn't a dog!) We just turn here and there, and when we start out in the morning, we often don't know what country we will be in that night. This book tells about the interesting people we meet, and the fascinating things we see in this beautiful country.
We have stayed in 101 places in 157 nights in France, during 9 trips. The second edition of "France" is now ready for publication, and the first edition of "Italy" and "Germany" are also ready to print.
We travel with the idea that if we have no schedule we aren't late; if we don't care where we are, we aren't lost; if we have no itinerary, we've exactly where we ought to be; and if we can't see it this trip, we'll see it the next time we are in town.
We have spent nearly 1,000 nights in Europe in 452 different places, have crossed international borders 227 times, and have driven nearly 90,000 miles in a small RV in about 30 countries. This is not a "how to" book, it is a "why not" book.
