Special features of the book are the photography and art. One hundred and sixty color photographs are contained on 16 color pages and an additional thirty five black and white photos are scattered throughout. Some of the named episodes are: helicopters, Wandering Should Day, Duck Hunt, Escape, The Flood, Westmoreland, Border Incident, Tax Collector, White Collar Sniper, Snake, Opium, VC Commander, Dead Already, Ambush, VC Party, Mortar Attack, Night for Frogs, Itchynose, and -Tet, as the VC cover and six sketches were drawn by former Army intelligence of! ficer to spend the next five years as a prisoner of war, much of it in the jungle. He underwent great physical and mental torment, and was fortunate to have survived.
