Clinical Biopsychology in Theory and Practice

In pursuit of practical applications of the neo-Lurian model of higher cortical functions, clinical experience has assisted in the refinement of an approach called emotional restructuring. This approach classifies human behavior patterns as those of givers or takers. These classifications have proven accurate in explaining and predicting the actions of people in close relationships. Under this approach, many clients experiencing long-term anxiety and depressive disorders could finally resolve conflicts tied to past negative emotional memories. Both behavior and treatment fit within the context of the neo-Lurian model. The book presents both the theory and clinical experience gained over nearly 20 years of work.
