Beginning with the arrival of the first Americans via the land bridge, this comprehensive book explores the major ancient cultures that arose and flourished in North, Central, and South America until about the 12th century. Among these are the Maya, the Anasazi, the Moche, and the Mound Builders. Emphasis is placed upon native religious lore and rituals and the technical ingenuity of native peoples.
