This is a carefully researched history of the Austin, Texas Bar Association that gathers into one volume a narrative of the legal life of Austin, accompanied by rarely seen photographs and sidebars highlighting the careers of important attorneys from the city's founding to the present. The work starts with the city's founding during the Zenith of the Texas Republic, with a Capitol building(called the hog pen) surrounded by wood palisade for defense against Indian attacks.
