Batter UP!

In 1967, Earl Hochman published a kids' baseball cartoon book, ON THE SIDELINES. He recently updated that book with all new illustrations and added cartoons. BATTER UP! is the result. Jim Fregosi, famous shortstop of the California Angels and later manager of the Angels, New York Mets, Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays, provided the introduction to ON THE SIDELINES, which is repeated in BATTER UP! Fregosi wrote..."Where else but in "Kids' Baseball" do you find a tie game interrupted in the middle of the 6th inning because your second baseman has to go to the bathroom...or a coach is awakened from a sound sleep by an irate mother telephoning to ask why her boy didn't make the team?"
