Description ▲
After receiving an inheritance, Heidi and Jason Davis, looking for peace and solitude in rural Ontario, buy their 1000 acre dream home on Manitoulin Island and move there with their fourteen year old daughter, Jennifer. Jennifer hates the island and threatens to run away. At the beginning of summer, she rescues a stranded wolf puppy, names him Boots, then tries to convince her parents it's a dog given to her by her Ojibwa school friend, Sharon Goodchild. Following an argument with her mother over Boots, Jennifer, with Boots, runs away back to Toronto and spends the summer with a friend, Ashley and her mother, begging for money on the streets during the day, partying most evenings, and dealing with a maturing wolf. Trouble never seems far from the two girls and the little wolf; getting caught up in the seedier side of life in a big city, Jason flies to the rescue for a court hearing and brings a remoreseful Jennifer home. Ashley, a fugitive from the Catholic Children's Aid Society, unexpectedly arrives at the Davis' home. More trouble follows when Jennifer, Sharon and Ashley encounter five hunters out for revenge against the wolves on their property, including Boots. The incident with the hunters directs Jennifer in ways she had not expected. Jennifer's Boots will make you laugh and cry, and ends with a cheer for Jennifer and Jennifer's Boots.
