Childhood Asthma: A Passport to Knowledge is a CD-ROM, designed to provide families and caregivers a comprehensive understanding of asthma management for children. Friendly characters tell the story of asthma and how it affects a child’s life, from what goes on inside the body to the effects of asthma on relationships and activities. Developed in collaboration with the Alberta Children’s Hospital and the University of Calgary, the program offers self-paced learning with the use of interactive full-motion audio, video and graphics. This engaging CD-ROM is ideal for children, parents, teachers, health care professionals and childcare providers.

Childhood Asthma: A Passport to Knowledge provides a "guided tour" through the complex world of asthma management. The question and answer format covers the spectrum of the asthma management team - the child with asthma, the family, the doctor, pharmacist and asthma educator. Manuals with lesson plans are available for teachers. An extensive database on the various drugs and the devices used to administer the medications help in understanding this complex body of knowledge.
