Red Dogs and Pink Skies is a full color, sumptuously designed book exploring Paul Gauguin’s ideas about painting and music. A CD of original music, composed by Bruce Adolphe and inspired by Gauguin’s work and ideas, is included. Adolphe and Polenghi, composer and painter, have created an accessible, engaging, and thought-provoking testament to Gauguin in music, images, and text, replete with quotes from Gauguin’s writings, and enhanced by a timeline highlighting events in the artist’s life in the context of music, science, literature, politics, and daily life.
