10,000 White Horses / 10,000 Caballos Blancos

Spanish and English are on each page of this delightful story. Come catch a wave as a child pretends to ride the white horses of the foam. This is a "try, try again tale" as the child misses the first two waves, but catches the third one. The galloping rhythm has lines such as these. From out of the white caps, the horses now come. They're skirting, flirting, proceeding, receding. The little ones whisper, "Come play!" as they quickly are slipping away.

The illustrator catches the action as ten thousand white horses go rushing to shore, ten thousand white horses and more.

The translator enjoyed making this text available in Spanish. She teaches third grade in Puerto Rico.
