Writer's Bloc: A Las Vegas Valley Author's Showcase

WRITERS BLOC showcases writing as diverse as the authors themselves. These offerings range through the genres, from classic short stories -- with a twist -- to imaginative and appealing memoirs, from disturbing crime adventure to intellectually and morally engaging science fiction. The reader will find entertainment, humor, and even joy, but not confort, because all of these writers show their edges. The nonfiction treats the difficult and emotionally loaded subjects of death and grieving, including the mysteries of cryogenics; the realities of probate law; the idiocies of our sane civil court system; and the possibilities for living a gay-friendly life in a variety of environments. From twisted sexual adventures to ghost stories of real and tragic ghost, from sweet, healing, or wrenching family memoirs to laugh-out-loud encouters with Las Vegas strip clubs, WRITERS BLOC offers a wonderful montageof the exploration and essence of American life. Writers Bloc is the first published collection of the Henderson Writers Group of Southern Nevada. While many of the stories have local southern locations, the spirit of the book is truly universial in the best sense of the write's craft.
