Secession to Siege 1860/65: The Charleston Engravings is the first history written and published of all the Charleston Civil War engraving. Joggling Board Press is about publishing untold stories of history and telling them in a way that is authentic but most of all compelling for the general reader. The "Engraving Series" is a collection of books whose narratives are highlighted by the intricate engravings that appeared in illustrated newspapers during the Civil War. Journalists who drew the sketches for the engravings were behind the lines, recording in word and image the bloodiest war in our history. First in the series, Secession to Siege 1860/65: The Charleston Engravings is currently available. Releases for spring 2005 releases will feature engravings and narratives of Savannah, Beaufort, Port Royal, Hilton Head, and South Carolina. Paced at a storyteller’s clip, these narratives are the work of Douglas W. Bostick, a historian with a detective’s nose for a good story and an unsettling zeal for unearthing little-known facts.
