Description

Three for the Stage

Two dramatic monologues and one poetic drama for 3 actors by Stephen Eridan are published together for the first time. This collection of three varied works for the stage present a range of thought and feeling extending from one of France's greatest poets to contemporary humor, satire and romance. All 3 stage works include songs or music interludes.

I Beg Everyone's Pardon: Francois Villon's Testament

I Beg Everyone's Pardon is an effective dramatic monologue adapted from Francois Villon's greatest and longest poetic work. The work also has striking vocal settings of seven of the ballades Villon included in his Testament.
12 Curves and Turns (of Love)

This romantic work for the stage is moving and funny by turns, no pun intended. Three actors, a Man, a Woman and a Narrator, converse, contend and comment on romance poetically. The text is supplemented with a series of musical interludes to be played by one percussionist between each of the Curves and Turns.
The Blase Way

Everyone wants to laugh at someone else. Some are so blase that they can even laugh at themselves. The Blase Way puts an apple in the mouth of poor old humanity and turns it on the spit. But don't get mad, the author knows he's human, all too human too, just oh so blase. Here he declaims on the whys and wherefores and whatevers of this state of mind. Six solo songs are included as part of the monologue.
