Ink On Her Nose

"Small press" publisher, Charlie Rothbury, decides to use her late husband's Lloyds of London life insurance payoff to fund a million-dollar advance on royalties competition, a publicity ploy she believes will be a good investment. She employs her two sons to help film the fun and games for a reality TV show, Who Wants to be a Best-Selling Author? She invites her top selling authors to spend a weekend at her remote wooded estate where they must compete for the million-dollar prize. It's a dark and stormy night when the authors and their guests arrive, but a sudden cold snap downs the power and telephone lines, and one author turns up dead. Is one of the other authors trying to improve the odds? Is someone settling an old score? Or is someone cleaning the ranks of complainers and wimp-outs during the ensuing Michigan "white-out" snowstorm? A classic locked-room whodunit, Ink On Her Nose (reminiscent of the Neil Simon movie, Murder by Death), offers a humorous glimpse into the book publishing business.
