Jake Der Gaertner: Blindenhund Als Schatzgraeber (Many Tongue Tales)

Jake is a special Guide Dog. He helps blind Granny take care of her granddaughter Maggie, in a tiny fishing town on the northern coast of California. Jake helps Granny get out a pouch of letters with strange seeds sent home by Grandfather from every place he ever sailed to. The seeds are blown into a puddle when Granny dies. Maggie has to move with her Mom and Dad to a big city. Maggie's Dad won't let Jake come. But Jake finds the sack of sprouting seeds just in time, and jumps in the moving truck. Jake helps Maggie find an ugly vacant lot, and together they turn it into a magnificent garden. People in the new neighborhood give them what they need, and even Dad comes around to help. People of all nations follow their noses to find the marvelously familiar smells of exotic plants from their home countries. Many stay to make a wonderful party.
