Secrets In Seattle: Sex, Lies and Shoes

Jane Fitzgerald is a brilliant research scientist at Seattle's Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Jane finds her work, especially in the lab, fulfilling. The lab also serves as a refuge from her immediate supervisor and nemesis, Eleanor (a.k.a Evil One). Jane, however, hasn't achieved the same level of fulfillment in her personal life. One bright spot in her life is her best-friend Andie. They met in college and are really sisters in spirit bound, perhaps, by the absence of their mothers while growing up. Andie's mother died in childbirth and Jane's mother distanced herself from the family after loosing her other child to Leukemia. Andie, because she's a statistician, knows the odds. She is constantly calculating and recalculating her own and Jane's chances for finding love. The love that hasn't eluded either is their total and unwavering love for shoes. Filled with strong characters, plot twists and a heavy dose of humor.
