It was a moment unique in American collegiate history - never before or since has a college student body been called into pitched battle and led a victorious charge against the enemy. The price was great: 57 cadets were wounded, ten died. All were changed. All had pursued the same academic course, yet it would be difficult to find more varied careers - many reached the very top of life's ladder.
