From 1962 to 1966, Heath Hunter dominated baseball. The young southern hurler attacked hitters with a Hall of Fame arsenal and a headhunter's bloodlust. But after suffering a horrific freak accident, he was forced to leave the game prematurely, not even five full seasons into what could have been a legendary career. Nobody ever heard from him again. From 1962 to 1966, Flynn Marlowe bounced between the minors and majors, a pedestrian centerfield prospect who just couldn't put it all together. His inevitable path to obscurity never should have intersected with Heath's ascendancy. Sometimes, though, the wrong players cross signs.
