The Crisis

"These are the times that try men's souls." With these words Thomas Paine begins a series of letters to unite the colonies in the war for independence. Later known as The Crisis, these letters will span six years and unite the fledgling nation around the cause of freedom. Even General Washington uses Paine's words to inspire the troops at Valley Forge.
