Rumination: Of Steeping and Loss, then New Life

Matthias Mendezona was born and raised on a coconut farm with tropical forest behind his grandfather’s house and a beach up front. Required by circumstance to obtain an education and work in the city, he returned often to his roots. These poems capture some of his voyages through steeping, loss, and new life.
