Description

The Banana Boy is the story of a woman whose adopted son helps her to find her true love. Karen Blake dutifully lends a hand to a homeless woman named Nikki whenever she can. Almost everyday, she will give some food or money; but one day, Nikki is nowhere to be found. Relentless worries begin to flood Karen's mind when Nikki disappears for days. She finally discovers Nikki lying on the street, pregnant and addicted to drugs. Nikki is rehabilitated and decides to have Karen adopt her baby. Raising Tre, Nikki's biological son, requires Karen's hard work. His exposure to drugs while still inside his mother's womb makes it hard for him to have a normal growth. A couple of years later, Tre's biological father, Ty Champion, arrives to take custody of the child. That same year, Tre is put in a banana-shaped sack by two young men. The act causes a media frenzy, thus earning Tre the name "Banana Boy." Karen fights for the case with an attorney, David Tucker. A Love triangle begins to form between Karen, Ty and David. Tre tells Karen that Ty might be the better choice, but she is already engaged to David. On the day of her wedding, Karen rushes to the airport where Ty will be flying to Washington. Upon seeing him, Karen immediately gets down on her knees and asks Ty to marry her.
