Sparks

A collection of short stories, poems and novels representing the more than 30-year writing career of Jon Zech. SPARKS includes all of Jon’s published work, as well as dozens of pieces that should have found publication. The writing in this book centers on the human part of human nature. Jon’s characters are always people one has met, or would like to meet, people who appreciate the beautiful strangeness of life and try their best to understand it. Included are such classic Zech stories as “The Tuesday War,” “On the Chopshaw Road,” and “Lorna in Kinshasa.” The full text of his novel, Buck & Tangee is also inside, as is his unfinished novella, Billville. Stories from both early and late in his career are published here, as well as a rare selection of his poetry.
